The architecture of the future will not emerge from an abstract act of design but from a different form of us.

Andrea Branzi : Architect
Archizoom :
Rejecting modernism and the contemporary wave of interest in modular, plug-in architecture in the late 1960s, Architecture Radicale was a group of architects which assembled in Florence, Italy. AR was a collaboration of other collectives like Archizoom and Superstudio which were already questioning modernism and thinking beyond or behind architecture at the building scale. Amidst a broader rejection of institutional, bureaucratic and capitalist authority, Branzi's writing reflected the interest of this avant-garde group in sociocultural evolution and changes in people's lifestyle and behavior.
