India will be free of British control.

Mahatma Gandhi : Activist
After the British government imposed a salt tax, Gandhi called for a non-violent march of protest from Sabarmi to Dandi, India. When the marchers reached the coast, they passively collected salt lumps from the coast in defiance of the law which had made the practice illegal.
The protest inspired a series of protests which put strain on British-owned stores and mills. The non-violent protest movement drew worldwide attention and eventually led to India's independence from Britain in 1947.
