In 2008, Dutch news satire website De Speld wrote the story as a parody dubbing continuous impeachments on scientific institutes by Dutch politicians. Geert Wilders, leader of the right-wing party PVV (Party for Freedom), is said to plain about 'leftish' weather forecasts made by the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI). When the institute published a so-called climate atlas in 2011, PVV-parliamentarian Richard de Mos critized the publication and called it 'leftish climate propaganda', questioning the objectivity of the KNMI.
