According to Sergey Kuznetzov, the chief architect of Moscow, the housing policy is directed towards the end of sleeping areas. He explains “I hope, we will stop building traditional ‘sleeping areas’, like Butovo, Cheremushki or Mar'ino. It is not the right way to live. They seem to be created for people to rush to the metro and go away as quickly as possible.”
Whether personal wish or official policy - if anyone - the chief architect of Moscow should be able to make this prediction come true.
