A "virtual human" could help speed new medicines to patients

Oak Ridge National Laboratory : scientists
A "virtual human" could help speed new medicines to patients. The Virtual Human project at Oak Ridge National Laboratory aims to build an entire virtual human, with fully interacting systems, within the next 10 years. With a virtual human, researchers could go inside the body and see how various organs respond to medications or procedures. Drug companies could use the virtual human to accelerate human trials for new medications or skip them altogether.
