The whole Earth will become solid gigantic computer except for a few nature reserves

Ray Kurzweil : futurist
The physical bottom limit to how small computer transistors could be shrunk will be reached. From this moment onwards, computers could only be made more powerful if they will be made larger in size. Because of this, A.I.s will convert more and more of the Earth's matter into engineered, computational substrate capable of supporting more A.I.s. until the whole Earth will become one, gigantic computer, except for a few nature reserves set aside on the planetary surface for those humans who would decide to remain in their natural state.
