Robot farms will exist

Neil Ardley : writer, musician
In the future robots and machines will take over farming completely. Robot farms will be situated in deserts and places with harsh climate conditions. Trees and plants won't be growing on the soil. Crops will be growing by hydroponics.
Hydroponics is used, but not on such industrial scales. There are not robot farms yet. In dry climate even for hydroponics we will need water.
