Oil Storm was a television docudrama which aired 2 months before the catastrophic Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans. In the film, much like in the subsequent reality, a category 4 hurricane hits New Orleans, killing thousands and causing severe destruction. Though the film focuses on a oil-shortage crisis as a result of the hurricane event, which did not result from Katrina, the eery coincidence is undeniable. In the film approximately 1700 are killed, while Katrina's death toll was about 1500.
James Erskine, Oil Storm. BBC2. aired 5 June 2005.
